Great Start

Greetings CNLL Parents!

We hope this email finds you and your family off to a great start to the 2009 Baseball Season!

For those of you new to CNLL...

Cupertino National Little League has an on-site Snack Shack at Kennedy Middle School, which opens during all Majors, Minors and Juniors baseball games. The money raised at the Snack Shack goes directly back into the CNLL general account. These much-needed funds are used for anything from helping to keep registration fees low, paying fees to use our beautiful fields, purchasing necessary equipment such as the paint cans used to paint the lines on the fields, dirt to build up our pitching mounds, to the uniform jersey our players are wearing.

More than just raising funds, the Snack Shack has been an integral part of the Little League experience for the players and families for many years. For those of you in T-Ball or Farm, I strongly urge you to come and visit the Snack Shack during any of the Majors, Minors or Juniors games to give yourself and your player a glimpse of their baseball experience in the future.

Teammates

Why support CNLL by purchasing Team Meals?

Other than helping to raise much-needed funds for CNLL, sharing the team meal after the game allows our players to build relationships and camaraderie with their teammates after the game - WIN or LOSE.

With the rising cost of food and the state of our current economy, the Snack Shack team has made a concerted effort to keep the cost of the team meal low. We realize that towards the end of the season, the players may get tired of some of the Snack Shack options offered so we would appreciate any support you can give by purchasing drinks or snack items to compliment your outside food purchase. We certainly understand if your personal situation does not allow you purchase a Team Meal. Any support you can provide will be much appreciated.

What’s new at the Snack Shack?

Our new focus this year is to try to reduce waste and lower costs for the Snack Shack. For these reasons, we no longer offer baked potatoes or soup.

Options

However, we have the following new items added for those wishing for a healthy option:

  • Chicken Teriyaki Bowl
  • Personal Pan Cheese and/or Pepperoni Pizza
  • Tomato Basil Pasta
  • Amy’s Bean and Cheese Burritos

Thank You to those who got us this far...

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Marcia Kearns and Dana Stern for Co-managing the CNLL Snack Shack the past 3 years and for helping to make it a smooth-running and well documented operation. Another big THANK YOU to Rob Kearns for helping to maintain the facilities of the Snack Shack and for keeping our water tanks and propane filled.

Thank you so much to each and everyone of the parent volunteers from the Major Cardinals, Major Reds, Major Giants and Minor Braves who have staffed the Snack Shack so far this season. We realize that it can get a bit hectic in the Snack Shack sometimes but we hope that when you finish your shift, hopefully, you would of met other parents and players you may not of met before.

The CNLL Snack Shack is currently being managed by Marilyn Choy. She works with a wonderful team or parents who help her with training and shopping. A tremendous THANK YOU to Jennifer Brown, Valerie Sanders and Gail Nordby for stepping up to help with these duties.

And we look to your help to keep us successful tomorrow!

Marilyn is looking for someone to Co-manage the Snack Shack during the rest of the 2009 season into the 2010 season, ideally someone with a child playing in the minors or younger divisions. We would also appreciate any additional help with shopping or helping with any other duties. If we all do a little, then no one has to do a lot! No experience is required. Please email Marilyn at shackshack@cnll.org to volunteer or if you have any ideas or suggestions for the Snack Shack.

We look forward to seeing you at the fields and at the CNLL Snack Shack!
