Challenger Baseball Program
Welcome to the CNLL 2011 Challenger Baseball Season!
CNLL Challenger Baseball gives special needs children the opportunity to learn and play baseball. Our primary goal is to give everyone a chance to play, regardless of limitations. In addition, we strive to build children's self esteem, provide them with the opportunity to participate in a team sport, and interact with others in an outdoor environment. No baseball experience is necessary. Depending upon the child's needs, parent participation may be required on the field.
Boys and girls from ages 5 to 22 are allowed to participate.
Games are usually held on Sunday afternoons at 1:00pm or at 2:00pm, March through June. Each game is 2 innings and a game lasts under 2 hours. Home games are at Jollyman Park and Kennedy Middle School, and away games are throughout the South Bay and Peninsula. To register, send email to challenger@cnll.org and forms will be sent to you.

Challenger Baseball Buddy Program
Baseball Buddies are typically kids and young adults (ages 11-18) whose role is to provide on-field assistance to Challenger players as needed. Buddies are partnered with a player that they will assist with the game throughout the entire season. This may include helping players bat, field the ball, or simply getting around the bases, all resulting in a rewarding experience for both the player and the buddy.
The volunteer commitment is Sunday afternoons from March through June. If you are unable to fully commit, please partner with a friend to ensure your player has a buddy for every game. To learn more about becoming a Baseball Buddy, or to sign up, contact challenger@cnll.org.
