Challenger Baseball Program
Welcome to the CNLL 2009 Challenger Baseball Season!
CNLL Challenger Baseball is an all-volunteer organization designed to give special needs children the opportunity to learn and play baseball. Our primary goal is to give everyone a chance to play, regardless of limitations. In addition, we strive to build children's self esteem, provide them with the opportunity to participate in a team sport, and interact with others in an outdoor environment.
Games are held on Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, March through June. Some of the games will be held at our home field, located at Jollyman Park, away games will be held throughout the south bay and peninsula. Challenger participants will receive a team shirt and hat to be worn at every game.
To participate, boys and girls from the ages of 5 to 18, are invited to signup, no baseball experience is necessary. [To signup, use the usual CNLL Registration service, just be sure to choose the 'Challenger' category.]

Challenger Baseball Buddy Program
Baseball Buddies are typically kids and young adults (ages 11-18) whose role is to provide on-field assistance to Challenger players as needed. Buddies are partnered with a player that they will assist with the game throughout the entire season. This may include helping players bat, field the ball, or simply getting around the bases, all resulting in a rewarding experience for both the player and the buddy.
The volunteer commitment is simply one hour per week, Sunday afternoons, approximately 1:00pm - 2:00pm from March through June. If you are unable to fully commit, partner with a friend to ensure your player has a buddy for every game.
