CNLL works within Little League's division definitions, but will work to place each player in the level where they will have the best experience.
- TBall Division
- Typical Tball players are 5-6 in age and will experience:
- Objective is to have fun -- no scores are kept.
- Ball is hit off a T-stand.
- Season has 9 games, played at Regnart or Jollyman Park.
- Practice is one day during the week after school.
- Parents are expected to stay and assist since the age group needs a lot of one-on-one assistance.
- TBall within CLL is usually played at Regnart Field. (For more information on what is where, see our Fields page.)
- Typical Tball players are 5-6 in age and will experience:
- Farm Division
- Typical CNLL Farm players are 7-8 and will experience:
- Objective is to develop fielding and hitting skills -- no scores are kept.
- Adults pitch to the players.
- Season has about 15 games, played at Jollyman Park -- mainly Saturday Games
- Practice is usually one day during the week after school.
- Parents are encouraged to stay and assist -- these kids need to throw and catch a lot of balls.
- The Farm games within CNLL are usually played at Jollyman Field. (For more information on what is where in CNLL, see our Fields page.)
- Typical CNLL Farm players are 7-8 and will experience:
- Minors Division
- Typical CNLL Minors players are 9-11 and will experience:
- Games are scored, and players pitch.
- There are a lot of walks since the pitchers are just learning.
- Season has 19-20 games, plus a double elimination tournament to determine the overall winner.
- Games are played at Kennedy Middle School
- Two games a week and one practice a week during the season. One game is always Saturday. May have two practices a week before the season starts.
- Experienced players may move up during the season to fill openings in Majors.
- Teams will be formed in February.
- The main Minors field within CNLL is the Upper field at Kennedy (see our fields).
- Typical CNLL Minors players are 9-11 and will experience:
- Majors Division
- As defined by Little League: The Little League Baseball Division (sometimes known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 9-12. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 11-12-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.
- Typical CNLL Majors players are 10-12 and will experience:
- More competitive baseball, with experienced pitchers.
- Games are played at Kennedy Middle School, and also at other local leagues
- Two games a week and one practice a week during the season, with some three games a week at the end of the season. One game is always Saturday.
- Top players are selected for an All-Stars team, which plays post-season. (The season can get very long!)
- Most of the Majors games are played on CNLL's main field: the Lower field at Kennedy (see our fields).
- Juniors Division
- As defined by Little League: The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys and girls ages 13-14, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. The local league has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 13-14-year-olds from within this division (and/or from within the Senior League Division), and the team may enter the International Tournament.
- Typical CNLL Juniors players are 13-14 and:
- At this age, players and their families are into the baseball routine!
- Home field is Kennedy Middle School, but will play all over District 44.
- The home field for the CNLL Juniors is the big field at Kennedy Upper (see our fields).
- Seniors Division
- As defined by Little League: The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 15-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.
- The interests and abilities of the players, families, and coaches within CNLL as well as around the area will determine many of the characteristics of play at this level. CNLL may not field a seniors team for every season.
- The home field for CNLL Seniors is the big field at Kennedy Upper (again, see our fields).
- Challenger Division
- CNLL Challenger Baseball is an all-volunteer organization designed to give special needs children the opportunity to learn and play baseball. Our primary goal is to give everyone a chance to play, regardless of limitations. In addition, we strive to build children's self esteem, provide them with the opportunity to participate in a team sport, and interact with others in an outdoor environment.
