Some Notes from The City
- The good folks a the Grounds Division of the City's Public Works have some suggestions for long term care of our fields.
- If we do need to remove any mud, please do not stack the muddy soil around the backstop and leave it there. If the last team of the day would spread any extra mud back around the infield it will dry and be allowed to be re-incorporated into the field. There should not be much if any mud to deal with if the last teams of the day simply push the mix into any low areas in the infield (so the water from the irrigation will not have an area to collect).
- Please also do not to broom any excess water into the grass areas. This not only will kill the grass, it also makes the area around a puddle a muddy mess. It would be better trying to siphon the water off or wicking it up with towels or grease sweep.
Who is Responsible
TBall and Farm
In these leagues, the easiest answer is to split the load each game; have the Home Team be responsible for Set-Up, and have the Away Team handle the Tear-Down.
Minors, Majors, and Juniors
Since these divisions are now involved in Inter-League play, the Home Team should handle both Set-Up and Tear-Down since the Away Team will often be from neighboring leagues who will not be familiar with our fields or our equipment.
