Parent Information

Parent involvement is key to our success; from just playing throw-and-catch with the kids all the way through filling our leadership roles.

Thank you!

Welcome

This is where we will be posting everything we can think of for helping parents stay on top of what you need to know about CNLL. And if there is anything that you think should be here, let the WebMaster know.

Parents and CNLL

If you are new to CNLL, you may find our Parent Backgrounder to be a helpful start to understanding what it is that you are getting into.

Please Help

  • Please help CNLL
    • CNLL depends upon the parents to make all of this possible for the kids. We do ask each parent to sign up for at least one of the league's Volunteer Positions.
    • For those taking a role working with one of our players, we are required to have a completed application (see "Paperwork" below).
  • Please help your team:
  • Fundraisers
    • Eat at the CNLL Snack Shack! All proceeds go to CNLL -- the Snack Shack helps fund a sizable portion of CNLL's operations.
    • Support our sponsor's!
      • Again we expect to have a series of deals with local restaurants -- like we did in 2010: Fundraising Nights?. Have a good meal out, and 15-20% of the food and beverage items goes to CNLL.

Paperwork

  • Every player's coach should have a copy of your player's medical release form
    • Little League provides a blank for you to fill out and sign: Medical Release Form (PDF; fill out, print, sign, and give to the team manager)
  • Volunteering Forms
    • Little League takes a pro-active approach to kids safety. They require volunteer forms for any and all adults in direct contact with players. At CNLL we interpret this to include all parents who have a major role with the team including "Team Mom" and all parents who come out to the fields to help with practice. As is required by Little League we will process background checks on all volunteers working with the kids.

Season Schedule

Parents and Little League

CNLL operates under the auspices of the Little League International organization.

While there may be some local interpretations, they set the rules -- and sometimes these can be a surprise.

  • In 2009 Little League is updated the rules on bats, and in 2010 they were still revising how the approved bats were to be labelled
  • Starting 2007 and carried over to 2009 and tweaked a bit for 2010, Little League has established limits on how many pitches a player can throw in any one game.
  • Remember: Starting back in the 2006 season Little League changed the "League Age determination date", it is now April 30th, not July 31st.

Positive Coaching Alliance

The Little League organization has partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance in an effort to improve the playing and learning environment for the players.
