CNLL Registration

Registration for 2010 is open now.

Registration for the Spring 2010 season is expected to be open December and into January.

We will try to keep registration open late for TBall as well as the Challenger Division.

How to Register

There are two parts to registration.

1st, go online

The first step of registration is to go online to the registration service.

CNLL uses an online registration service from Active.com to handle the payment of fees (by credit card) as well as much of our registration paperwork.

The online registration process covers several of our needs

  • Name and contact information (including medical contacts, etc.)
  • Payment via credit card for the CNLL fees
  • Recording your acceptance of the legal and other waivers
  • We also ask you to sign up for one of our Volunteer Positions

Follow this link to Go to Active.com's Registration Service

  • Yes, pretty much the same registration service as last year. No, they do not seem to retain more than a few answers from last year's forms.
  • Active.com does surround many of their pages with both text and banner advertisements, these are not anything that CNLL controls. CNLL is responsible only for the registration forms (our stuff is the left-hand column, below the Active.com banner and above the "Sponsored Links" footer); any other solicitations are not part of our registration.

The online registration process has the following steps:

  • On the first page at Active.com, find and click the green Register Now button
    • If you don't notice the button at first, it is along the left-hand edge, below the "CNLL Spring 2010 Season" headline and street address.
  • Choose a program
    • Most of the age limits are approximate. We will work to place each player at the best level for them and their enjoyment and improvement through the season.
  • Accept the three waivers
    • The first waiver is for the registration service's lawyers (Active.com's requirements, not ours).
    • The second waiver is a standard Little League waiver of liability that is necessary to keep CNLL from having our own legal problems.
    • The third waiver is from CNLL asking you to recognize your role with us as a parent with our volunteer organization.
    • Read these waivers carefully, contact any of us at CNLL if you have questions about these waivers.
  • The Registration Form itself
    • Lots of little boxes to fill in (details about the player, parent, doctor, and so on -- including your volunteer role)
      • Top Of Form (basic name and age information)
        • Note: CNLL has no interest in signing you up for any "News and Offers". Beware, the default values on this Active.com form will have you "opt in" to get marketing emails from Active.com -- please review the three checkboxes under "News and Offers" and ensure they are (un)set as you desire.
      • League Boundaries (Little League requires us to check that each player lives within our boundaries)
      • Additional Player Information (so that we can place your player on the right team)
      • Parent/Guardian Information (so that CNLL and/or our Team Managers can reach you as necessary)
      • CNLL Volunteering (we are an all-volunteer organization, and do need your help)
      • Emergency/Medical Information (so that we are prepared for any circumstance)
        • Note: At the end of the Active.com form there is an offer for "FREE Magazines". That offer is strictly between you and Active.com; CNLL has no interest in selling you any magazines.
    • Do not check boxes blindly
      • The company running the registration service is also hoping to get you and your family added to their mailing lists.
      • Unless you are interested in getting yourself or your friends on their marketing lists do be very careful about checking/unchecking boxes for "Sign me up for News and Offers" or "Tell your friends and family about this activity", and so on.
      • Also CNLL does not need you to sign up for any magazine subscriptions, those parts of the registration form are provided by the registration service and not CNLL.
  • Payment
    • Check that you are signing up for the right program
    • Fill out the required credit card information
    • Use the Pay Now button down towards the bottom
      • If you need a refund for any reason, contact CNLL (not the Active.com registration service). If and when CNLL gets notice of your charge being processed then we can get you a refund check probably with a lot less hassle than arguing with their credit card processes.
      • Also note, you do not need to "Join Now" or register for any other Active.com service at that time. Yes, their registration service is hoping that Active.com can become the center of your future online life, but that is not necessary for you to play ball with CNLL...
  • Print Record
    • Please remember to keep a print out of your registration record (good for your records, but also something we need in Step 2).
      • The green View and Print Waivers button works well for a printout to bring for CNLL's Walk In Registration (Step 2 below) [this will include your player's information and a copy of the waivers]
      • You should keep a copy of the credit-card transactions for your own records, but CNLL does not need to see any credit-card information

2nd, come and see us

The second step of registration is to bring a printout of your registration receipt to one of the registration sessions.

Please do the 1st part, the online part, prior to coming to our in-person registration sessions. Unfortunately, we have very limited (if any) network connectivity at our in-person registration sessions, so we are not able to offer a chance to perform the online part of the registration at these in-person sessions.

At these in-person registration sessions we cover the rest of our leagues needs.

  • Confirmation of players age (Little League has some very specific age rules which can affect player placement)
  • Confirmation of eligibility (is your address actually within the league boundaries, otherwise this requires the filing of a waiver)
  • Opportunity to discuss player placement questions or concerns

This is also your opportunity to chat with experienced coaches and volunteers, get in depth answers to your questions and concerns.

What to Bring

New players! Little League rules insist that you must bring proof of residency (e.g. a utility bill, a tax receipt) as well as proof of age (e.g. a birth certificate).

Returning players: Please bring current proof of residency.

All players: Please fill out and bring the Medical Release Form.

When to Register

The registration process opens in the Fall and runs through January, except for the Seniors Division which has its signups usually around May.

The following in-person registration dates have been scheduled for the 2010 Season:

SatDec 12th11:00-1:00Kennedy Snack Shack
SatJan 9th11:00-1:00Kennedy Snack Shack

Check for updates on our Calendar 2010.

League Ages

Little League has a specific way of calculating "League Age". The table below shows what is the league age of the player based on the Month and Year of birth.

When registering please place your players in their divisions by their age. Before and during the season CNLL will work with each player to ensure that they are properly placed at the right level for them to play safe, have fun, and learn.

If you have any concerns about placement when registering, please include a note in one of the text boxes on the registration form, and we will make considerations as best as we can.
